Daro Film Distribution Picks Up International Rights To Menace

Canadian Docudrama to make International Debut at MIPCOM

Vancouver, CANADA --- September 19, 2007 --- Daro Film Distribution today announced they have struck a deal with Thunderbird Films of Vancouver for world-wide distribution rights to the CTV Television movie, Menace, (aka To Serve and Protect: Tragedy at Mayerthorpe), produced by Calgary's SEVEN24 Films and Toronto's Slanted Wheel Entertainment. The television movie event will make its international debut at this year's MIPCOM.

"We are honored to bring this powerful drama to this year's market," said Pierre Rochat of Daro Film. "Menace is a compelling story with universal appeal and we are sure international buyers will love it."

Based on the screenplay by Andrew Wreggitt (Shades of Black), Menace recounts the events of March 3, 2005 when four RCMP officers were ambushed and gunned down by a heavily-armed, habitual criminal named James Roszko (Brian Markinson, Eight Days to Live) on his farm near Mayerthorpe, Alberta. Henry Czerny (Clear and Present Danger) stars as a fictional RCMP corporal, and three-time Oscar nominee Diane Ladd (Chinatown) plays Roszko's mother. Ken Girotti (24) directs.

Located at booth 24.13 in Cannes' Palais des Festival, Daro Films will be introducing the new docudrama to international buyers at MIPCOM 2007.

The film is produced in association with CTV, Canada's best rated television Network, and is scheduled to broadcast this Fall.
