| ZDF and France 5 acquire TV rights to animation series Zigby.... French broadcaster France 5 and German broadcaster ZDF have acquired free-TV rights to the CGI animated preschool series Zigby from EM. Entertainment GmbH. Both France 5 and ZDF have acquired the broadcast rights to the new preschool series (52 x 11-minute episodes) which is produced by Avrill Stark Entertainment Pty Ltd., Zebra (I) Productions Inc. and Big Animation Pte Ltd - in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Canada's Treehouse. Completion of the series is scheduled for December 2008. Zigby,the series is based on HarperCollins Children's Books wildly popular literary character Zigby -- "The Zebra Who Trots Into Trouble" The story centers on the adventures of zebra, Zigby, who has a lively imagination and comes up with offbeat ideas -- getting him and his friends into "trouble"... HarperCollins Children's Books first published Zigby, created by children's author Brian Paterson, in November 2002.
