| Vancouver BC -- Sept 8/08 -- Filming has recently been completed in Vancouver BC for Dragons of Black Roc a fantasy adventure miniseries for Corus Entertainment's Movie Central and Astral Media's The Movie Network. Dragons of Black Roc is distributed internationally by RHI and will be broadcast in the US by the Sci-Fi Channel. Starring David James Elliott (JAG), Natassia Malthe (Elektra) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future). Dragons of Black Roc is an epic story of goblins, elves, knights and dragons, set against an extraordinary landscape. Dragons of Black Roc was produced by Lisa Richardson of Reunion Pictures, the prolific Vancouver production company behind the hit series Tin Man, recently nominated for nine Emmys. "I'm really excited about this production, our talented cast and creative team have created a fabulous fantasy, visually compelling and epic in scope," says Richardson. Associate producer Michael Shepard of Thunderbird Films adds "Dragons of Black Roc" is going to be a huge Canadian television event and it is a perfect fit for Movie Central." Once a paradise fueled by the all-powerful sorcery-grade metal known as bloodsteel, the distant land of Mirabilis begins to decay as supplies of the supernatural substance dwindle. The evil warlord Dragon Eye fights to gain control of the world's supply of bloodsteel, which he will use to rule Mirabilis. But, an ancient prophecy propels four ordinary citizens to battle Dragon Eye. Their quest is to find the fabled Crucible - source of all bloodsteel - before the corrupt forces of darkness destroy their world.
